A miracle in your eyes
A sunset, beautiful sunrise
Lost for what to say, he sighs
For lack of, a beautiful compromise

It’s barely past five, and he rolls out of bed
Nervous and scared, amongst the thoughts in his head
The long road awaits, as he set out on his way
Something fantastic, could be happening today

It’s well past six now, the miles tick by
There’s no doubt or questions, as to why
You do what you need to, in order to survive
You thank who you believe in, just to be alive

So seven fifteen’s here, as he sits outside
It may not all work out, but atleast they tried
Up the flight of stairs, and he knocks on the door
She tells him to come in, and suddenly he’s floored

She’s more beautiful than he thought, a true angel come down
He’s lost for words and stutters, but making no sound
He tries to act as if, he’s not scared to death
But the room’s seventy five, and he can still see his breath

A miracle in your eyes
A sunset, beautiful sunrise
Lost for what to say, he sighs
For lack of, a beautiful compromise

The long ride to where they’re going, seemed like a trial
He tried to relax more, with every passing mile
He dropped her off, where she needed to go
Said he’d be back at noon, just so she’d know
He drove away thinking, “I know I blew it”
Sat around and wondered, “I should have knew it”
Such an awkward time, he didn’t know what to say
But he’d try to pull through, it’s only the first day

She said she didn’t feel like eating, her stomach upset
He tried to make her feel better, trying hard to forget
How awkward he felt, seeing her for the first time
And trying to figure out, what was going through her mind

So at three forty five, he picked her up one last time
And began the snowy trek, which seemed all fine
They got back to her home, and he decided to leave her there
Not because he didn’t want to stay, or because he didn’t care

She had work to do, more important than him
So he tried being supportive, and went out on a limb
He knew enough, to let it be this way
First impressions, on a first new day

A miracle in your eyes
A sunset, beautiful sunrise
Lost for what to say, he sighs
For lack of, a beautiful compromise

So he took the hour ride home, thinking forever
“If only I’d been more witty, if only I’d been clever.
Then maybe I’d feel different, and not be wondering
If my words had come out, and I’d not been blundering.”

He knew she knew the real him, and hoped she still knew
For her all the odds he broke, for what he’d go through
He said he’d walk a million miles, and swim a thousand seas
Just to see her smile, and see the snow covered trees

A miracle in your eyes
A sunset, beautiful sunrise
Lost for what to say, he sighs
For lack of, a beautiful compromise
